Accelerated Quran Studies Academy

Program – Quran Memorization

AQSA Graduates Lead the Taraweeh Prayer

About the Program

Introduction

It is only through the grace of Allah Ta’ala that our AQSA graduates lead the Taraweeh Salah during the blessed month of Ramadhan throughout many places of worship in Windsor, Tecumseh, Leamington and even the USA.

Synopsis

Its name, Accelerated Quran Studies Academy informs us that it is a rigorous full time Hifdh Program, where a student will completely immerse himself in the memorisation of the Quran Majid. A unique feature of this program, facilitated by IAW is that students are also taught Islamic Studies, a must for all Muslims, which is unfortunately lacking in many such Hifdh programs. Students also have the option of joining the Academic Tutoring Program, which follows the Ontario curriculum.

Detailed Program Overview:

Students are given 3 tasks for each day:

  1. New Lesson
  2. Review of Most Recent Lessons
  3. Review of Old Juz/Ajzaa

New Lesson

Depending on the capability of the student, he will be given homework to memorize anywhere between half of a page to two pages, or even more.

Review of Most Recent lessons

For this task, a student is to memorize and recite the most recent pages of the current Juz/Parah he is reciting. This ranges from five to ten pages.

Review of Old Juz/Ajzaa

For this task, a student is to memorize and recite his old Juz/Ajzaa (Parahs) which he has already memorized in the past. This ranges from five to twenty pages depending on the number of Ajzaa he has memorized.

NOTE: A lot of emphasis is placed on revising the Juz which a student has memorized. If a student’s review is weak, he will not be allocated a new lesson.

Islamic Studies

Aqidah (Beliefs/Creed), Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Seerah (Life of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم), Tajweed (Rules of Correct Recitation) and Aadaab (Islamic Manners and Character) are taught in this period.
